Referral Information
Our centre has worked with the CPSO to develop appropriate best practice guidelines for providing intravenous therapy for patients with mood disorders.

For Psychiatrists

We offer two pathways for your patients:

1. Consulting Pathway - Our affiliated academic psychiatrists are consulted and assume
assessment and follow up of the patient during acive therapy. On completion, care will be transferred back to the referring psychiatrist.
2. Affiliation Pathway - For psychiatrists comfortable with intravenous therapy and wanting to stay involved during treatment. The referring psychiatrist remains actively involved monitoring the mood condition while the physicians at our centre will be the MRP responsible for the medication administration. As part of this we require that the referring physician complete an OHP affiliation form with the CPSO.

For Family Physicians
Our affiliated academic psychiatrists are consulted and assume assessment and follow up of the patient pertaining to intravenous therapy. On completion of their therapy, care will be transferred back to family physician when deemed appropriate by our psychiatry team.
For Patients Wanting To Self Refer

We require that patients wanting to self refer have an active psychiatrist involved in their care to determine treatment eligibility.
